Space Station KL-1000 (KL1K)

This was an old experiment to teach me how to use JavaScript, back in 2013.

It's a JavaScript/CSS/HTML only incremental game with about 20 minutes of 'real' gameplay. It gets pretty flat/dull later.

You'll be:

  • Clicking the generator buttons
  • Buying generators for your space station
  • Hiring space station crew (with randomized names and personalities)
  • Doing research with the help of the endlessly cheerful robot ACE

The game is abandoned now, but I have uploaded it here to hopefully help others who also want to learn JavaScript to make their own games. I've labelled the files/sections quite carefully and there are lots of debug output print commands you can uncomment to watch how it runs.

Will open in fullscreen. Really only works at 1920 x 1080 or larger.

Awesome!  I remember this game from when you first made it and I really enjoyed it. I'd been bummed out when you took it down. It's great to see that you've put it back out there. Thanks for making this, and thanks for putting it back online!

i cant figure out how to get purple stuff despite my clicking on it or even do research please tell me how

Hey, kydddd,

You've hired your first member of staff, and unlocked the tech tree, but have you started researching the "BUILD LAB 1" node yet? You'll need

  • 1 member of staff
  • 100 energy
  • 100 water
  • 100 oxygen
  • 100 food

To get the green "INITIATE RESEARCH" button to appear in the information box to the left. Once you do, it will consume those resources (not the staff member though) and take 30 seconds to complete (with progress bar).

Once it's complete, you'll have a capacity of 20 for your purple research points!

Unless, of course, your member of staff randomly generates zero/0 research points per click, which is possible, but unlucky. You'd need to hire another staff member and hope the next one isn't so bad at research :(

Hope that helps!

Thanks and i was just blind as i didnt see the button to
